My name is Angie Yoh. I was born and raised in the city of Abijan, Cote d'Ivoire. I am one of nine siblings. Growing up I would like to say that I always wanted to be a stylist. However, I was good at it, I always kept going back to it. Now it is like second nature to me. I do not know what i would be doing if not this. I came to California in the summer of '24 with some family.
I had worked in a few salons before deciding to follow the call. I was comfortable in my job, however, I didnt feel like that was ultimately not the path meant for me. The daily hustle and bustle is intense and enough to drive me crazy, as if that wasn't enough I decided to dip into the pool of entrepreneurship and business ownership.
Now almost 7 months into the process, I can breathe. Breathe a lot easier, the pressure and focus to succeed. When you have yourself to keep accountable and the parameters for success are determined by others, it is overwhelming at times. The ups of the very good times, and the not so good ones. Seeing my flaws and limitations, my ignorance and making mistakes. It has been a eye opener for sure. Opening my eyes to the incredible community and helpfulness of others. The kind hearts and smiles from my clients after an appointment, the joy from watching myslef grow and evolve as a person. Those mistakes and missteps keep shaping me, my experiences have made a better and much more capable person. Knowing I am capable of doing difficult things and sticking to them. I draw a parallel with my business, Angie Hairr Stylist. Seeing us both evolve has been an experience like no other, I would never trade it.
